What we collect

Bookings and enquiries: your name, phone number, email address (if given), postcode, the job you need and any notes you add.
Booking assistant: the messages you type into the website chat, so we can understand the job. These are stored with your booking. Chats that don't lead to a booking are kept for up to 60 days, with your IP address, to protect the service from misuse, then deleted automatically.
Technical data: basic server logs (IP address, browser, pages requested) for security and to keep the site running. If analytics are enabled, Google Analytics loads only after you interact with the page.

How we use it

We use your details to reply to you, arrange and carry out work, send certificates and invoices, and meet our legal obligations, for example keeping records of electrical certification. Our lawful bases are taking steps to enter into a contract with you, our legitimate interest in running the business, and legal obligation.

The booking assistant uses Anthropic's Claude AI to understand your messages and suggest times. Your messages are sent to Anthropic to generate replies and are not used to train their models. We don't use it to make decisions with legal effect about you.

Who we share it with

Only where needed: our email and hosting providers (IONOS), Anthropic for the booking assistant, Building Control or NAPIT when notifying certified work, and anyone we're legally required to share with. We never sell your data.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that don't become jobs are deleted after 12 months. Job records and certificates are kept for at least 6 years, because electrical certificates need to be available for the life of the installation.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete your information, object to how we use it, or ask us to restrict it. Email info@ne1electrical.co.uk. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Cookies

The site uses one essential cookie to remember a booking confirmation and, for staff, the admin login. If Google Analytics is enabled, it sets analytics cookies after you interact with the page.
