An RCD that trips once a week is one of the most common calls we get. The cause can be a failing appliance, moisture in an outside light, a nail through a cable or deteriorating insulation. Swapping the RCD rarely fixes it. We isolate each circuit, insulation-test it, and track the fault to the exact cable or accessory.
We repair what we find and retest so you can see the result. If the fault points to a bigger problem, such as wiring at the end of its life, we tell you honestly and give you options and prices before doing anything more.

Questions about electrical fault finding & repairs
Why does my RCD keep tripping?
Usually an earth leakage fault on one circuit or appliance. Common culprits are outdoor lights, kettles, immersion heaters and damaged cables. Unplug everything and reset. If it holds, plug things back in one at a time to find the culprit. If it still trips, call us.
Can you give a fixed price for fault finding?
Fault finding is charged by time because nobody knows the cause until it is traced. Once we find it, the repair is quoted before we do it.
